A list of frequently asked questions to help you understand how it works.

Do I need to hire a pool table mover?

Yes. Pool tables are very heavy. The smallest home-use pool tables can weigh between 80 and 150kg. With such weight, you will need to help to lift and take it to another place.

Besides, pool tables are very fragile. Even though they look heavy and oversized, they are made from very delicate materials.

Also, some areas make it hard to move these items. For instance, moving them on stairs can prove very difficult. These are some of the places where most accidents happen.

You can avoid all that by hiring a professional moving service.

What should I consider when hiring a pool table and piano movers?

The first thing is to establish whether or not it’s worth it to hire such services. Some people would instead do the moving if they can manage.

And then consider the type of pool table or piano you are moving. It is a cheap product, or is it expensive. From here, you can decide whether it’s worth the risk of doing it yourself or hiring someone.

Experience is the most important consideration in a moving company. There are so many services around that finding the right one can be a bit overwhelming. Consider how long the company has been operating. And that should make things easy.

How much does it cost to move a pool table or a piano?

There are two approaches to charging moving services:

  • Fixed price. This is the traditional approach where companies calculate fixed costs based on the maximum estimated time of delivery. This makes it hard to change anything.
  • Hourly. In this case, you pay only for the services you need. It is a flexible system that allows you the freedom to help wherever you can to reduce the time taken.

At Sydney Piano and Pool Table Movers, we want to make the process as easy and efficient as possible. That is why we offer the flexible option of hourly rates.

Do you offer packing services?

We understand that packing can be very difficult for some people. Perhaps you don’t have the right packing materials, or you just don’t have the time.

Don’t worry; we come with a professional packer to set all your belongings in place. Our team will come with boxes to pack your equipment safely and securely.

You have the freedom to do the packing.

What size of pool tables and pianos do you move?

We understand that pool tables and pianos come in different sizes. There are smaller pool tables for home use. And there are larger commercial ones.

No job is too small or too big for us. Once you contact us, we will come to assess the job and provide the necessary moving equipment.

Do you have any guarantee policies?

Yes, we guarantee a no-damage service. That means we will make sure your items are transported and delivered in the safest way possible.

With our experience, we know that no person is perfect. But we love owning up to our mistakes.

Are you a licensed moving service?

Yes. Sydney Piano and Pool table a fully licensed, branded, and insured company. We understand that commercial clients would never hire a service that is not licensed. And we have been serving such customers for many years.

Also, we offer a no-damage guarantee. That is the reason we only hire highly trained and experienced people. Suppose anything happens to the items while in our hands; we will get it fixed immediately. We want every customer to feel comfortable and trust us.

What type of paperwork should I expect?

Paperwork is part of what we do. Our aim is to ensure a smooth and efficient move for your piano and pool table. There is certain important information we are required to provide at every stage of the process.

During the assessment and before order:

– A copy of an obligation-free quote – non-binding
– A copy of your rights and responsibilities when you move
– Contact information, including telephone numbers of inquiries and complaints.

Once you have ordered the service:

– A copy of the order for service signed by the customer and the moving service.

You can request any other information and will happily provide it.

What is an order for service?

This is one of the most important questions we have come across. As a moving company, we need to provide an order for service on every job. A customer is entitled to a copy of this document. It is NOT a contract, as some customers may have thought. This document notes the estimated charge of the services and any other special services you will get, including packing and unpacking. Also, it will have the pick-up and delivery information with specific times. If you wish to track your shipment, this information will be very helpful.

What will happen if you delay picking up or deliver my goods?

Moving services are expected to meet all the dispatch requirements. That means they must show high performance of transportation and at every stage of the service. Picking and delivering items on time must be guaranteed.

But we also understand that there could be certain unavoidable circumstances that may lead to delay. In that case, the mover must come out clearly and explain what happened. They may sign and inconvenience or delay along with receipts and everything else involving the job.

What insurance services do you offer?

A moving company must be licensed and insured. You get three types of protection for your goods, which are:

  • Limited liability. This is the basic coverage required by the law. It does not mean the consumer anything. The mover is liable for a specified amount of money per pound of the item.
  • Added valuation. This insurance allows the customer to collect an amount based on the item’s replacement value, less depreciation. You pay according to the declared value of the goods.
  • Full value. This insurance will cover the actual cost of replacement or repair for the item without any deductions.

It is very important to hire a registered and licensed mover.
